With academies based all around South London, Jamie’s Gymnastics provides gymnastics classes to children of varying ages and abilities. From holiday clubs to birthday parties, their mission is to give children a safe environment to learn about a new sport while remaining social and active. The owner of the rapidly expanding business, James, has agreed to answer some questions about his academies, why they’re important, and various aspects of running a local business.
Where are you based?
Jamie’s Gymnastics Academy is based in Bromley, and we proudly serve the surrounding areas in South London. Our convenient locations allow us to provide accessible, high-quality gymnastics training for children across the community.
What do you have to offer?
We offer a wide range of gymnastics classes, from beginner levels to advanced competitive training. Our programs include recreational gymnastics, pre-school classes, and elite coaching for those aiming to compete. We also host holiday camps and special workshops to keep kids engaged and active throughout the year.
What age ranges do you teach?
We teach children as young as 18 months in our parent-and-toddler classes, right through to teenagers in our advanced programs. Our age-specific classes ensure that every child receives the appropriate level of training for their developmental stage and skill level.
Why is it important for children to get involved with a sport such as gymnastics?
Gymnastics is fantastic for children because it builds strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence. It lays a solid foundation for physical fitness and promotes discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. Plus, it’s a fun way for kids to stay active and develop lifelong healthy habits.
What is the most important part of running a local business such as yours?
The most important part is fostering a strong sense of community. We aim to create a welcoming environment where children and their families feel supported and valued. It’s about more than just teaching gymnastics – it’s about helping children grow and thrive in a positive, nurturing space.
How do you keep your clients happy?
We keep our clients happy by offering well-structured classes, maintaining open communication with parents, and regularly celebrating the achievements of our students. Our dedicated coaches provide personalised attention, and we’re always open to feedback to improve our services and meet the needs of every family.
What qualifications does your staff have to teach gymnastics?
Our coaching staff is highly qualified, with certifications from British Gymnastics, including Level 2 and Level 3 coaching awards. Many of our coaches also have experience as competitive gymnasts themselves, bringing both expertise and passion to their teaching.
How do you see your business evolving in the future?
We see Jamie’s Gymnastics Academy evolving by expanding our facilities, introducing more specialised programs like gymnastics for children with special needs, and incorporating cutting-edge training techniques. We’re also looking to deepen our community engagement through partnerships with local schools and organizations to make gymnastics accessible to even more children.
